Harrah second-grader Q’Wayam Tadena opened the statewide Migrant Education Conference this morning as a part of the Swan Dancers. Wonderful job, Q’Wayam!

Please join us Tuesday August 20th for our start of the year health fair. All childhood vaccinations as well as flu and covid vaccines will be available and free of charge for community members and students from ages 6 months- 18 years old. Vaccines are free to all community members without insurance or for those who are under insured. For those adults with insurance coverage, most insurances cover vaccinations for covid and flu vaccine 100%. Blood pressure, blood sugar screenings, and Narcan kits will be available free of charge as well. I hope to see you all there!

Please join us this Wednesday, August 14, for our annual Summer Jam community gathering! There will be a barbecue, an all-ages track meet, a firearm safety giveaway, and a bike rodeo. You'll also be able to tour the Yakima Sheriff Department's armoured vehicle, get sprayed by a water truck from Fire District 5, and visit booths hosted by over 20 community partners. There will be two Financial Aid Workshops to help students and recent graduates with the FAFSA and WASFA applications. The dates are August 13th and August 22nd from 3:00-7:00 p.m. in the White Swan Campus Library. A meal will be provided. Registration for MASD is now open! Registration for returning students can be completed online via Family Access or in person. We will host two evening registrations: one tomorrow Wednesday, August 7 from 8:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. at the White Swan Campus. MASD Families we are still here at hosting the free resource fair. We are located in front of the White Swan Skate Park. There is free clothing items, food, mobile showers, health resources, haircuts and more. The event will end at 2:00 p.m. / Familias de MASD todavia estamos aqui en el evento gratis de recursos. High School tutoring schedule for the week of May 20-24, 2024.

The White Swan Carnival will be on Tuesday, May 14th, starting at 5:00 pm at the White Swan High School track. We will be joined by a record-breaking 32 community partner organizations! There will be hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cotton candy, and popcorn. All free! There will also be tons of carnival games including ring toss, basketball, tug-o-war, and cornhole along with activities like face painting, temporary tattoos, and henna tattoos. In addition, kids will be able to tour the Yakima Sheriff Office's armored vehicle and an ambulance from White Swan Ambulance, and can get sprayed by Fire District 5's water tanker. AND there will be a dunk bucket where students can try to douse their favorite teachers.
