Parent involvement in your student's education is important to their success in school.
What Is Parent and Family Engagement?
Title I, Part A defines parent engagement as the participation of parents in regular, two-way and meaningful communications with school staff that involves the student, addresses learning and engages the family in school activities.
Why Does Parent and Family Engagement Matter?
Research tells us that students with involved parents, are more likely to:
- Earn high grades and test scores
- Take more challenging classes
- Have better attendance
- Graduate, AND
- Go on to community/technical college or university.
The Mt. Adams Conceptual Framework defines the work of our District. The fourth circle in our framework represents Parent Engagement and Communication and the expectation is that district educators embrace a philosophy of relationships, build strong connections between school and home, and develop trust and respect with families.

The Mt. Adams School District has a Parent Involvement Policy, #4130, (see below) and welcomes feedback from parents and community members about our schools and programs.
