School Districts, like Mt. Adams School District #209, with no tax base get a vote of confidence from Senators Honeyford and King – A NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. of the 2022 Senate proposals to the floor for discussion included our effort from last year to allow school districts that are “land poor” like Mt. Adams School District to be able to accept and utilize New Markets Tax Credits. As stated in the revised bill, “The purpose of this act is to assist in the financing of school district facilities by clarifying how school districts may fully participate in the federal new markets tax credit, federal rehabilitation tax credit program, and similar federal tax credit programs.
