5/3/2022 - update
Dear Families and Students;
Today we went into a full lockdown due to continued safety concerns. We received word that an individual wanted by law enforcement was in White Swan and then followed our sports bus.
Once we were aware of the situation we immediately called law enforcement. After speaking with law enforcement the decision was made to have the bus return to the White Swan campus. Both tribal and county law enforcement provided an escort for the bus to return to campus. After the bus was safely returned and all students secure, both law enforcement agencies continued to provide a presence in our community until school ended.
We know that parents and families are uneasy and even scared when a lockdown occurs on campus. Our first priority was to make sure that our students in the bus and on campus were safe. Then, as soon as possible, the lockdown was posted and a call went out to families letting them know of the situation.
The Mt Adams School District’s first priority is student safety. We appreciate the work of both Tribal Law Enforcement and the County Sheriff’s office and their focus to help us keep our campus safe. We will continue to take precautions on our campus by having on campus lunch and moving students quickly across campus between periods. Thank you for your support as we continue to work through this situation.
If you have further questions, please call Mrs. Tenney or Mr. Muller at 509-874-8626.
Thank you for your support.
Mrs. Tenney
