8/25/23 Dear Community: Today at 10:12 AM White Swan High School entered a secure and teach in response to a credible report that our campus was not safe. Law enforcement responded immediately and worked through the situation ensuring campus safety. All students and staff are safe and the secure and teach was lifted at 11:45 AM. Students returned to their schedule and were able to have lunch from 11:45 AM to 12:15 PM. Campus safety is our priority. Thank you for your help and support as we continue to keep our campus safe. High School Football starts on Wednesday and Volleyball, XCountry, Girls Soccer, and Cheer start on Monday. Students must be registered on FinalForms before the first practice. Mt. Adams School District has been closely monitoring the extreme weather in the Yakima Valley and since the school buses are not air conditioned, the district has decided that the first week of school will be on a half-day schedule. (Monday through Friday) With a half-day schedule, all schools open on time. With a half-day schedule, White Swan High School will be released at 11:00 AM, Harrah Elementary and Mt. Adams Middle Schools will be released at 11:30 AM. With this schedule, students should finish their bus rides prior to the extreme heat of the day. The District apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and we appreciate your flexibility. Transportation - Afternoon bus route drop off times will be approximately 3.5 hours earlier than a full school day - listed for your route on the district's Transportation website at https://www.masd209.org/page/transportation Meals - Breakfast and Lunch will be provided every day this week. If you have questions about the schedule please contact your child's school office.

Hello MASD families! Today, Friday August 11th, 2023 is the last day to come in to a building office to register your student. The first day of school is Monday, August 14, 2023.

Por favor visite la página de Transportación en nuestra página de internet y seleccione el enlace para las rutas y horario de AM del autobús en su área. Los horarios son aproximados y se ajustarán así como mejoremos nuestras rutas. Por favor este en la parada de autobús 5 minutos antes del horario programado. August 9, 2023 Transportation Update Dear Parents and Guardians: We are excited to announce that the Transportation Department has it’s own web page on the District’s site. Please click on the bus icon to see when the bus services certain streets and areas in our district. We don’t publish addresses so please be out at your bus stop five minutes before the posted time. Times will adjust after the first few days of school. Additionally, the District completed a safe walk routes to school analysis last year and is implementing the following changes: The District is adding bus service to students living within the one mile walking radius to Harrah Elementary and Middle School. Students living inside this radius are now eligible to ride the bus to and from school at the following stops: Harold’s Market (students living South of Branch) Old Harrah School Elementary (students living North of Branch) Washington and Branch (only for students that live in this specific neighborhood) Bus Routes 3, 5 and 7 service these stops in the morning and afternoon. Students living in the town of White Swan will have service at the following locations: Elm and Curtis Walnut and Curtis Birch and Curtis Bird Song Lane and Signal Peak (Students residing in Totus Park) Bus Route 3 will service these stops morning and afternoon for Harrah Elementary. Registration for the 2023-2024 school year is still open. You can register your new students by visiting one of our building offices. Returning students can register online via Skyward Family Access or by completing a paper packet. Online registration will close on Friday, August 11, 2023. Please contact your building office for questions. First day of school is Monday, August 14, 2023.
