Friday Update

Partnership with Heritage University meets the needs of our students once again.  MASD will receive 2,500 food pouches three times per month at no cost to the District.  The pouches include fruit and other foods that are provide in squeezable pouches. 

Right Response Refresher: Harrah administration, counselors, and Resource Officers participated in a Right Response refresher course. Participants reviewed techniques related to prevention, de-escalation, physical safety, and postvention. 

WIDA Testing: Ms. Capetillo continues to help administer the WIDA assessment (World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment) at Harrah Elementary.  She stated, "I am amazed at the collaboration of all grade level teams in launching and completing WIDA testing.  Shout out to Emery and Cynthia for helping out with students who need accommodations or need to complete testing! Thank you for your support" 

Pick-Up/Drop-Off at the New Harrah Campus: Morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up are going amazing! A big shout out to our parents and community for navigating the traffic in a respectful, safe, and kind manner! 

Senior Night at White Swan High School: Athletic Director Gerry Muller reports that the Cougar fans honored seniors during the basketball games this week. It was a full event as the crowed honored the class of 2022 Seniors from the following sports- Boys and Girls basketball, Boys and Girls wrestling, and the Cheer Team. 

White Swan Campus Teacher Leaders attend National Professional Learning Community Conference:  The White Swan Campus sent a team of eight educators to the PLC at Work Conference in Phoenix, Arizona this past week. During the conference, the teachers have been reporting with enthusiasm to Mrs. Tenney about their experiences and learning during the conference sessions. They are excited to come back and present to the rest of the staff what they have learned and how it applies to ensure that every student receives high levels of learning every day. Principal Tenney reports, “These teachers are part of the Instructional Leadership Team on the White Swan Campus and they are ready to help make positive changes and work towards providing what our students need to meet the changing in an ever demanding world.” 

White Swan High School Assembly to honor the Boys’ Basketball Team:  Today, the high school will have an assembly. The boys’ basketball team was selected as team of the month and a representative from Les Swab will attend the assembly to give the team an award. The assembly will begin at 1:45.    Student-by-Student:  White Swan High School is providing afterschool tutoring to all students who are interested in attending with the main focus of credit retrieval.  Mrs. Tenney has been meeting with any student who is in danger of not being on track for graduation to provide support and encouragement
