Good Sportsmanship Being Taught at Mt. Adams Middle School

In Mr. Smith’s exploratory class, Team Sports, seventh and eighth grade students compete in a friendly game of “Capture the Flag.”

Mr. Smith’s year-long emphasis on sportsmanship has positively impacted the way our middle school students interact with each other in competitions.

Student-to-Student Discourse Leads to Better Learning

In 8th-grade science, students collaborate with one another to answer how one can measure variation in plant and animal populations. Small groups examined, measured, and recorded sizes of maple leaves and lima beans before comparing their data with the rest of the class.

A Colorful Day in the Kindergarten Art Class

In art class, kindergarteners collaborated on process art, emphasizing the creative journey rather than the final product. The students had fun experimenting with paint and freely expressing themselves with all colors of the rainbow.

Harrah Students Learn About Trisomy 21

A third grade classroom celebrated World Down Syndrome Day (3/21)! This is a day to come together to celebrate Down Syndrome and raise awareness. It was a time to celebrate people with Down Syndrome and make others aware of their abilities and accomplishments. As one student stated, “Students with down syndrome can do everything they want and they are beautiful inside and out!”

Second Grade Authors

The second grade students participated in the University of Washington Writing Project this week. Students worked with a team of college students to create stories that will be published along with the stories of other students throughout the state. Thank you Mrs. Jenks and team for creating this wonderful opportunity for our students.

Do you see this smile?

This student had a successful day receiving 100% on his check-in and check-out sheet. He is part of our “Panther Family” and has successfully  accomplished his goal to have excellent behavior!

This smile is true testament to the Harrah Panther Mission to provide a caring school environment for ALL Students that is centered around student success!
