Friday Update from Dr. Guaglianone

The Mt. Adams School District Cafeteria Heroes – Our food service company, Southwest Food Excellence hosted a dinner for all of our food service employees that they call a Heroes’ Dinner.  It was a great opportunity for Char Boyd from SFE and Chad Crawford our MASD Food Services Director to say thank you to this wonderful team!  Thank you for all of the great meals you all provide to our students!

The 2023 Senior Banquet - The Senior Class of 2023 is heading off to Silverwood today, but not before they had the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments at the Senior Banquet.  The event was held Thursday night in the Bill Parker gym.  There were shouts of joy and tears of sadness thinking about 13 years together.  It was a wonderful event to share memories plans.

The Class of 2027 High School and Beyond Plans – Speaking of plans, the class of 2027, who are now 8th grade students at Mt. Adams Middle School shared with family and friends their plans for high school and beyond.  This is a requirement of the state of Washington that students develop these plans; and our Mt. Adams Students were stupendous!  Synonyms for stupendous include: amazing, astounding, astonishing, extraordinary, remarkable, wonderful, prodigious, phenomenal, staggering, breathtaking, wondrous; and that is what they were.  Thank you Ms. Besemann for your leadership and for the entire Mt. Adams Team who helped our students be so well prepared for this event.  Please enjoy the pictures below.

Busy, Busy, Busy!  "It has been a very busy week at Harrah Elementary and Mt. Adams Middle School," reports Principal Widener.

Kinder Round-Up - Class of 2036!  The Kindergarten team of teachers, Ms. Dick, Ms. Castro and Ms. Bohon hosted a kinder round up this year. They met with thirty (30) new kinder students and their families. The wonderful kindergarten educational assistants helped each student make play dough to take home. We are so excited for these new students to be part of the Harrah Schools experience.

The Chargers return to the Cougar Campus:  The eighth grade students also went on a field trip to White Swan High School. They met with student leadership and were hosted by staff. They are looking forward to starting their high school experience next year and bringing down the house with Cougar Power!

The moment we have all been waiting for ! The elementary school has been buzzing with excitement as the opening of the new playground draws near. Classes have begun to visit the playground to learn about the behavior expectations while playing in this wonderful new space. The students are loving it! Our ribbon cutting ceremony was held today, Friday June 2, 2023. Following the ribbon cutting, the playground will be open for our students to enjoy!
